Rare vintage Birdhouse Tony Hawk Pterodactyl Skull promotional/display poster or banner measuring approximately 21″ x 36″. This piece came directly from a now-closed skate shop in Cleveland, Ohio and was part of the shop’s original skateboarding-era display material. A great piece of early-2000s skateboarding history for a Birdhouse, Tony Hawk, or vintage skate memorabilia collector. The artwork features the iconic Birdhouse Pterodactyl Skull graphic associated with Tony Hawk. The Pterodactyl Skull graphic dates to approximately 2001 and is credited to renowned skateboard artist Sean Cliver. Featured skater: Tony Hawk. Approximate era: 2001 / early 2000s. Large-format piece – considerably different from a standard skateboard deck. Double-sided photos included to show condition and construction. There is handwritten writing on the reverse that appears to read T Hawk. IMPORTANT: This marking/signature has NOT been authenticated. Vintage condition with visible age, storage, and display wear. The front has surface wear, creasing/wrinkling, and signs of age consistent with an older skate-shop display piece. The reverse has considerable discoloration, staining, dirt/age marks, and additional wear. There is also handwritten blue ink on the reverse. Please review all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the description. I have not attempted to clean, restore, or alter it. Why This Piece Is Special. It came out of a closed Cleveland skate shop and represents the type of large-format promotional material used to decorate skate shops during the late-1990s/early-2000s skateboarding era.
