Original May 22, 1977 flyer advertising the First Annual Skateboard Contest at Moving-On Skateboard Park, located at 4333 Home Avenue in San Diego, California. Features large images of professional skateboarders Steve Cathey and Ellen O’Neal. Events included freestyle, cross country, bowl jumping, and demonstrations by the Gordon & Smith and Bahne teams. Also advertises an evening exhibition by professional skateboarders. Measures 8.5 x 14 inches. Printed in black on one side with blank reverse. Moving-On was one of San Diego’s early skateboard parks, opening in February 1977. This is an original period file copy from the personal files of Ray Allen, who photographed Southern California skateboarding during the 1970s. Not a reproduction or later reprint. An interesting piece of early Southern California skateboarding history featuring two prominent skaters from the period. Some print show-through on the reverse. Please see photos for condition.
